Welcome and Introduction
The Malta Cricket Association is pleased to welcome you to the forthcoming Autumn tournament being held at Marsa Sports Club, Malta
The tournament will be between the host country Malta, Russia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
This is a fantastic opportunity to watch four national teams play on one of the finest green pitches in the Mediterranean.
This will be a formal set of matches, but everyone is welcome to attend, and Marsa Sports Club has kindly offered to open its doors to interested spectators, dignitaries and schools.
There will be plenty of local players to help visitors to understand the game, and refreshments and places to sit. You are welcome to come to Marsa Sports Club to sit and watch for as long as you like. Most games taken about three hours, so there will be time for two games a day.
There should be time for some fun activities for the children at lunchtime.
Cricket in Malta is becoming more popular as schools and young people become involved in a social, challenging and interesting sport. At the tournament there will be the chance to experience some top quality action from international squads. If this inspires you or your children to take up the game, you will be assured of a warm, supportive and friendly welcome. You will not need to buy equipment, this can be provided as needed, free of charge.

The tournament will be played on a league basis with teams accumulating points for a win. The team that accumulates the most points after playing all their games wins the tournament. Each team will play one game per day over the three days.
Points will be awarded as follows:- 2 points for a win
If teams have the same points after playing their games, final league positions will be determined by net run rate.
Dignitaries at Opening Ceremony
The officials & dignitaries attending the ceremony will be members of the Maltese government, ambassadors/consular officials of the competing countries and tournament sponsors. The competing teams will be introduced to the officials and dignitaries.
