We have four Cricket teams but as Malta is such a small place only the one ground!

The Pitch is inside the Marsa Sports Club Complex and get shared between the Main Club and the other teams in terms.

Cricket has been played on the existing site for over a century.

A cricket match is played every Saturday at the club, with touring sides offered both weekend and midweek matches.

         

Match Type

One-Day Limited-Over matches are the norm with lunch taken in between innings and 5-minute drinks breaks taken during each innings. Depending on day-light available and requests by the visitors, matches vary between 35-50 overs per innings.

The Main Club Facilities

The match fees are Lm8.00 (Eight Malta Liri - approximate 12 pounds Sterling, 17 Euros) per player per game a total Lm88.00 per game. This includes Club fees, match fees, Club facilities, showers etc, water during the game, a light lunch between innings (a selection of rolls and pizza - which has been very popular and praised by our touring teams), a team presentation memento.

Upon confirmation of your tour the Marsa Cricket Club reserves the right to ask for a £m50.00 (fifty Malta Liri ) non  refundable deposit.

Club Restaurant / Bar

The Marsa Sports Club has a restaurant (for breakfast, lunch, dinner) and separate Club bar for refreshments and food snacks (sandwiches, pies, crisps, etc). The match fees cover entrance to the Club bar for players and officials but all beverages/food consumed are to be paid extra. The beverages prices are very reasonable at the Club.

Marsa Sports Club Facilities

Should your team want a session/day of nets/fielding practice, apart from match days (AND considering ground availability), the fee is LM25.00 for the session or day for the whole team. No extras included.

Our Marsa Sports Club ( http://www.marsasportsclub.com ) also houses a golf course, tennis courts and squash courts.

 

Golf

A round of golf is Lm15.00 per person. The clubs can be hired at Lm5.00 per set and the trolley is Lm1.50.

At short notice, it's best to book the games at least a couple of days before if possible. Saturdays are mainly occupied with local golf tournaments. By request, it is also possible to organize a round of golf with (or competing with) members of the Royal Malta Golf Club and there is a discount on Green fees for such games.   

 

How to find us

The Marsa Sports and Country Club is situated on the outskirts of the towns of Marsa and Qormi - only a few minutes drive from the airport or Valletta (The Capital). : Hired and/or private transport may use the club's private car parking facilities. You can also reach the club by using the public buses leaving Valletta and passing through Marsa.
The bus numbers are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 11, 26, 27, 32, and 34. The bus stop is opposite the road leading up to the club's gate; 500 meters away.
